The new mantle gives this wall a finished look and gives the homeowner a place to decorate for the holidays. The custom mantle was built with fluted columns and a recessed panel. The fireplace mantle is easily moved to service the gas fireplace. This mantle was painted using the same color white as the rest of the room, to allow it to blend seamlessly and stand out from the black marble fireplace surround.
This East Islip home had a gas fireplace on a plain wall with a black fireplace surround. This newly installed custom wood mantel was designed to accommodate the gas fixture. The mantel was designed to be removable. The homeowner can easily lift off the wooden mantel which is hung from the wall with a cleat. This provides easy access to the gas valve for service.
