A fresh paint job blends old wood with new repairs. Rotted wood was replaced and this whole porch was updated. Damage to the porch was endangered the structure and created an unsafe situation, which made the porch unusable by this homeowner. Once the structural issues were resolved, the extra effort to prep and prime the old wood will mean the paint job has longevity for this old home project. Historic paint colors match the rest of the house.
This historic Queen Anne in South Bay Shore had some structural problems on the porch. We repaired the damage, and painted the floor. The porch railings and trimwork were painted to accent the detailed turnings in the posts. The original posts were mis-matched, but were re-painted to look similar.
